Design

Exterior

A low, wide-set stance is one of the hallmarks of the Chevrolet Camaro, its powerful lines turning it from simply another sports car into the prototypical muscle car. The Chevy bowtie emblem is found on a large, low grille, interspersed with angular cutouts from an aggressive front fascia, all resulting in reduced drag and improved aerodynamic performance. Chiselled side panels are found connecting the wheel wells of the Camaro, housing performance-ready tires and sleek, racing-inspired wheels. A variety of trims and special editions ensure that there’s a Camaro as unique as you are, from the black and red accented Redline Edition to the Shock and Steel Special Editions, track-ready Camaro 1LE, or simply the fully-automatic soft-top Camaro Convertible.

Interior

Inside, the 2022 Chevy Camaro is built to inspire and support your most exhilarating motorsport dreams, from its finely calibrated instrumentation to the available RECARO® performance seats. Other available interior options, like heated and ventilated front seats, a microfibre sueded steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and a heated steering wheel ensure that there’s enough luxurious touches inside the Camaro to balance out its impressive performance on the pavement.

Performance

While the good looks of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro may be the first thing you notice, that’ll quickly be supplanted by its blazing performance. A variety of engine options provide this street legal rocket with more than enough power to lead the pack, starting with the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine found standard on the LS and LT trims, and capable of producing 275 horses and 295 lb-ft of torque. Next up is a 3.6L V6, available on the Camaro LT, that brings a solid 335 horses to the party. From there a pair of V8s round out the Camaro engine lineup, starting with the 6.2L LT1 V8 offering the Camaro LT1 and Camaro SS trims an equal 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. The final option is none other than a Supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 standard on the Camaro ZL1; thanks to a 1.7L Eaton® supercharger, the ZL1 produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, taking this top-level Camaro from 0 to 96 km/h in a scant 3.7 seconds.

Of course, harnessing all that power—from the top of the lineup to the bottom—is a choice of transmissions ranging from a 6-speed manual, to an 8- or 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Helping you keep control with all that power under the hood is the available Magnetic Ride Control™, an electronic damping system that works in concert with the Performance Traction Management and eLSD (electronic limited slip differential) systems. By scanning road conditions and adjusting the damping in only 10 to 15 milliseconds, this system makes this Chevy incredibly stable at high speeds, as well as improving the Camaro’s responsiveness. Looking for even tighter turns, the stiffer suspension found in the 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package provides it—along with a video recorder and performance data collection to help you shave time off of every lap. All that to say, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro does the performance legacy of the nameplate justice, and then some.

Safety & Technology

From infotainment to performance and safety, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro certainly doesn’t lack in the tech department. Enjoy hands-free and wireless functionality thanks to the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatible Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, helping you stay connected to both the road and your world at large, all while the available wireless charging pad keeps your devices at full power. On the performance side of things, the Driver Mode Selector lets you choose between up to eight different drive modes—like Sport, Tour, Track, and more—on the fly, while select automatic transmission-equipped Camaro models allow you to adjust your rpm and wheel slippage via the Launch Control system.
Other available performance technology, like the Head-Up Display or Performance Data Recorder allow you to really push the limits in your Camaro—legally, of course. And while the heavy-duty brake pads and high-strength calipers found throughout the Camaro lineup are definitely a big part of this muscle car’s safety, the ultra-high-strength steel safety cage is a pretty solid backup, as are the array of available active safety features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Forward Collision Alert.
