Have Your Inspect Your Brakes

Road salt, moisture, and freezing temperatures can cause brake components to rust or wear down faster. Have a professional check your:

  • Brake pads and rotors for wear.
  • Brake fluid levels and top up if necessary.
  • Listen for any squeaking or grinding sounds, which could indicate a problem.

Get Your Test Your Battery

Cold weather strains your car’s battery, often leading to a weak charge or even failure. Before you get stranded, make sure to:

  • Test your battery’s voltage and charging capacity.
  • Clean any corrosion from terminals to ensure a strong connection.
  • Replace your battery if it’s older than 3-5 years or showing signs of wear.

Change Your Oil & Top Up Fluids

After months of cold starts and stop-and-go winter driving, your engine oil and other fluids may need attention. Spring is the perfect time for:

  • An oil and filter change to keep your engine running smoothly.
  • Checking and topping up coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and power steering fluid.
  • Refilling windshield washer fluid with a summer-friendly formula.
